My journey at Itella began when I was at university and was looking for a professional internship place. I found out that Itella was searching for an intern for the international road transport department. This place seemed ideally suitable and challenging for me, especially because my studies were closely related to this field. After first contacting Itella, I received a positive response soon after and was invited to my first day of internship. The internship quickly turned into a full-time job as a transport manager, where I continue to work today.

What I enjoy most about my job is the flexibility of the employer in allowing me to successfully continue my studies in university while working full time. In addition, I can communicate daily with different parties – partners, clients, logistics companies and, of course, colleagues – and thanks to that I have gained a lot of knowledge and new experiences within a short time.

Working in this field is interesting for me because every day can bring new challenges that I have never dealt with before. The main driving force for me in my day-to-day work is to have the opportunity to continuously educate myself professionally but to also grow as a person. Events with colleagues outside of work are definitely important too – different events and activities out of the office that allow us to get to know each other better and create a friendly and open atmosphere which will later ensure the effectiveness of the teamwork. It is these events that have been the most memorable experiences for me in the Itella team so far.

I will definitely also remember my first work week during which, with the help of my colleagues, I learned about different systems and operations that now support me in my day-to-day work. There was a lot to learn, but, thanks to my keen interest in the field, the acquisition of knowledge was easy. The advice I would give to someone who is starting work at Itella is to be open to new knowledge and challenges, and that they can always be sure that they have a big and supportive team behind them who they can always count on in and outside work.
